Hillside Home
Set on a sloping wooded site in Lincoln, Vermont, this home and detached carriage house offered many opportunities for terracing. Mossy boulders and enormous stone slabs found onsite were combined with Vermont fieldstone to build extensive retaining walls, steps and walkways which connect the guest parking area, entry garden, kitchen garden and an outdoor studio space. A rustic cedar fence further defines these outdoor spaces and supports a mass of William Baffin roses that bloom throughout the summer.
